Like most model railroaders, I have always had a passion for model and prototype trains. From my first Lionel train set to my current layout, the Georgia Northeastern Railroad, model trains have been a part of my life. After I retired as a firefighter, I was able to work part time as a trainman for the Blue Ridge Scenic Railroad and learned a lot about prototype railroad operations. This experience has helped me focus on what I enjoy most about model railroading, local switching operations on a short line railroad. Many friends have helped me along the way with prototype and modeling information. Without the help and support of these friends and my family, I would not be the model railroader I am today. For that I am truly grateful and blessed.
